Taking into account the fact that he just suspended fundraising for his POTUS campaign to fundraise for his simultaneous Senate campaign and you start to see the writing on the wall.
Then he comes out and says this.
“Ted has chosen to make this really personal and called people dishonest in leadership and call them names, which really goes against the decorum and also against the rules of the Senate, and as a consequence he can’t get anything done legislatively,” in response to a question on Fox and Friends.
To be honest I missed this yesterday until late last night and didn’t feel like writing until now. So lets look at what Rand has to say.
“..Called people dishonest, and call them names…” No Rand, he did not call them dishonest, he outright called Mitch McConnell and the rest of the “leadership” liars. He didn’t mince words, he spoke honestly. “…which really goes against decorum and the rules of the Senate…”. Now answer me this. Do you honestly think we the people give a damn about your feelings and your decorum in the Senate?
What rule did he violate? Telling the truth? Being honest? I realize that in politics the entire premise is based on telling people one thing during the campaign and a completely different action when in office, but guess what that is Rand? Lying. That’s right its a lie.
So because the GOP is so pissed that Ted refuses to go along to get along, they refuse to allow him a second to force a roll call vote so people know who is voting for what ON THE RECORD.
See that’s what all this was about. Ted Cruz wanted to force the Senate to record who was going to vote for PP funding to continue and who was strong enough to end it. It would appear that since no one wants that on their name, they decided to violate “decorum” and deny him a second. Where is your fancy decorum now Rand?
Although at least Paul showed up for the vote, that’s more than you can say for Rubio or Grahamnesty.
He then goes on to say this at the end
“Its time somebody takes a stand…and we need to do something different than the democrats, dramatically different”
You mean the stands like Cruz has tried to force? Or the complete diametric difference to Democrats that Cruz stands for and speaks about publicly with no worry of whose feelings get hurt?
Maybe if Paul showed a little more of Cruz’s style and openly spoke the truth about everyone no matter who it pissed off, his poll numbers might be higher than 2.
