Over on Townhall yesterday Linda Chavez wrote a piece saying that if Trump’s immigration plan were put into place, it would cost approximately 1.6 trillion on GDP.
How you ask? Well according to her all those 11 million illegals are providing to the system you see it’s use natives being the drain on the system.
But even if we didn’t need immigrants to build new companies or to innovate, America’s aging population needs them to help support our safety net for the elderly. Even illegal immigrants are helping to keep the Social Security system afloat, contributing $12 billion a year in cash flow to Social Security, which they will never receive back in benefits. Between 1996 and 2011, immigrants overall also contributed $182 billion more to the Medicare Hospital Trust Fund than they receive in benefits — while the native-born are a drain on the program.
See there you have it folks, illegals aren’t drawing one red cent in benefits from the welfare state.
When your done laughing we can move in to the rest of her fallacy.
See according to her those illegals keeping our elderly alive have jobs and homes and such and to kick them out would cause hardship on industries such as construction since those homes would be vacant.
And the jobs lost would cause problems. But let’s look at this using that pesky thing called math.
There are allegedly only 11 million illegals in this country. Let’s say each of them has a job they have to forgo to quit breaking our laws. As of this month the labor participation rate is the lowest since 1977. 62.4%. That equals a little over 94 million people out of the work force.
Does anyone here honestly believe we couldn’t absorb 11 million jobs right now with little to no problem. Hell only 145,000 jobs were made last month. 11 million new openings would be great for those of us legally here.
But let’s be honest they don’t all have jobs, they are suckling at the welfare teat and they have no interest in assimilating to this culture.
Now explain the bad part about them leaving again?
